Austerity plans have worked to improve economic conditions in the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.  But don't worry, no one will act like that matters while whining for more debt-fueled government spending in the Eurozone and the US.
Why Fast and Furious Matters, from the NY Post:
Pssst — heard the one about the lethal scandal that reaches to the upper levels of the Obama administration and may turn out to be bigger than Watergate? A crime in which two American agents have been killed, and which the Justice Department has been furiously trying to cover up for more than 18 months? If you answered “no,” you’re not alone. The mainstream media have largely ignored the lethal — and most likely deliberate — “gunwalking” operation known as Fast and Furious. The plan, as ridiculous as it sounds, was to knowingly sell weapons to Mexican drug cartels, in hopes of tracing the guns. Of course, our government lost track of them.

Think we can't cut government and grow the economy?  Well, Canada did, and their economy is doing far better than ours.  Their government has brought unsustainable spending under control and shrunk government while rethinking onerous regulations and laws.  What isn't to like?  And the economists promoting growing government to grow GDP are more than likely receiving compensation from the government for their "opinions"(I have a hard time trusting the "experts" on anything these days).  The countries that shrink the public sector most often find their private sectors growing much more quickly. I submit this is not a coincidence.
Are you concerned about Mitt Romney's private equity record?  Well, what about President Obama's public equity record?  Crony capitalism is our system, folks.

Is there a bubble in US treasury yields?  And is JP Morgan contributing to it?  Interesting theory.  If it is correct, we could see rates going up in the near future.

New memos released by the White House show pharmaceutical companies agreeing to campaign for the Obamacare reforms in exchange for significant benefits worth billions written into the laws.  Not a big surprise, given the machinations undertaken to pass this massive behemoth of a bill.

More of that smart diplomacy we keep hearing about.  This time it is supporting Argentina's right to the Falklands yet again.  Unbelievable.
